Waitomo Caves are the largest caves in New Zealand, and are best known for glowworms and blackwater rafting. Overall though, I have to say that the caves are not that impressive - the chambers themselves are not that big, nor are the stalagmites or stalactites. What was great was how the visit to the glowworm caves included a boat ride through the dark of the cave to see the glowworms in all their glory, that was great. Unfortunately, the glowworms can't be photographed, as they just appear as small light dots without any display of space.
